Coming in March! After-School Drawing and Sculpture Class with Madison LaVallee

This five week after-school art class starts on Weds., March 22, 2017. Students will make a series of drawings and sculptures, guided through the process of drawing from observation and using artwork in the gallery as a primary drawing source. We will also make sculptures using wood, wire, and fabric, that mimic forms we see in the artwork. Along with working on drawing and material usage skills, students will learn to engage, notice, and speak about the art around them.

About the teacher: Madison LaVallee holds an MFA Sculpture & Combined Media from University at Albany and a BFA in Drawing & Painting, as well as a BS in Art Education from SUNY New Paltz. She has taught kids’ classes at the Arts Center of the Capital Region and college-level classes at UAlbany.

Open to kids 4th grade and up. $75 includes 5 classes, materials and snacks.

Meets Wednesdays from 4 to 5:30 pm: March 22, March 29, April 5, April 12 and April 26. (No class on April 19 because of public school breaks).
